We need to move out of our trusty old Scout Hut in a few months time. As Polesworth Scout Group we want to stay in the heart of Polesworth but there is no other building which can house 100 children per week, playing lots of energetic games, and not to mention all our kit. Hopefully we’ll have a site confirmed in the next few weeks and in the meantime we’re busy planning and raising funds to build our new accommodation. Currently I am studying medicine at Peninsula Medical School, and also trying to find time to train for the Virgin London Marathon to fundraise for Polesworth Scouts! They need to raise over £200,000 for a new scout hut as their old hut has been sold to developers. The group has 100 children and young people coming every week to do things from canoeing and climbing to crafts and they are desperate for a new home to be able to carry on. Polesworth Scouts helped me fundraise for my Gap year to Central America where I worked in a turtle sanctuary and taught scuba diving. Hopefully running the marathon will give me a chance to raise money in return for Polesworth Scouts!
